Council of Dads to Convene in Savannah
The NBC television pilot Council of Dads will be filming in Savannah during March. Created by Joan Rater and Tony Phelen (Doubt) and inspired by the bestselling 2010 memoir by Bruce Feiler, the drama concerns a husband/father who’s diagnosed with a potentially terminal illness, so he and his wife assemble a group of their friends to support and assist them and their family. Clive Standen (NBC’s Taken, pictured), Sarah Wayne Callies (The Walking Dead, Colony), Michele Weaver (Love Is _____), J. August Richards (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., TNT’s Raising the Bar) and child actor Blue Chapman are among those starring. It was previously done as a comedy pilot for FOX back in 2011, but it didn’t get anywhere.
