Untogether
The abundant LA shine decays the days of healthy sex for two sisters in writer/director Emma Forrest’s debut film. Recently sober but stuck between two novels, Andrea (Jemima Kirke) is in pursuit of Nick, a doctor who is also a best-selling author. She’s the iconoclastic ingredient who changes the sex of her cat to save its life and has a penchant for copy-editing everything including the Torah. Massage therapist Tara (Lola Kirke) is at a crossroads, unreciprocating her lover’s attention while being drawn back into Judaism by a politically active rabbi (Billy Crystal). Demerits are in order for its miserable soundtrack featuring numerous sing-a-longs to R.E.M.!
