Bobby DeBarge Story Gets Atlanta Rhythm
Another low budget TV One biopic, The Bobby DeBarge Story, filmed during February in and around Atlanta. Roshon Fegan (Greenleaf, pictured) stars as the lead singer of the 1970s R&B group Switch, and later the eldest sibling of the ’80s pop group DeBarge, whose personal troubles included drug trafficking charges and HIV, the latter of which eventually led to his death in 1995. Atlanta rapper Big Boi stars as Motown founder Berry Gordy, while singer Lloyd appears as Switch member Gregory Williams. Tyra Ferrell (Boyz N the Hood, White Men Can’t Jump) and singer Adrian Marcel also star, with urban radio morning show host Russ Parr directing. TV One intends to air the finished product sometime in June.
