Mine Blast Film Shoots in Atlanta

The tense tale of nine Appalachian coal miners struggling to survive after a methane explosion traps the independent feature film Mine 9 has just started shooting in Atlanta. Terry Serpico (Army Wives, Rescue Me, The Purge: Election Year, pictured), Francine Locke (Nashville), Clifton Powell (Bounce TV’s Saints & Sinners), Erin Elizabeth Banks (Cell) and Atlanta’s Mark Ashworth (Your Pretty Face is Going to Hell) star, while indie filmmaker Eddie Mensore is producing and directing from his screenplay. Scenes will also be shot in Mensore’s home state of West Virginia.
